End of days 2013

With end of 2013 drawing nigh, the time was right to once again attend the largest gathering of rollerbladers (with gifts) in the pacific northwest, XMAS BLADE COMP 6. Thanks to everyone who came out, it’s always a great time. Big ups to Jon Xmas for organizing. I’m never filming at D-block again… until next year.

2011 Blading Extravaganza Edit

YouTube Preview Image

It was waaaaaaay too hot out to be skating, but we all did it anyway. Many thanks to Roland for putting it all together, and everyone else that braved the heat that day. Good times!

A couple new Portland related edits.

First up we have Li’l Geoff Phillip, who many remember from his stint living out in the westside burbs, is back from injury and getting his skate on.  Fresh after murdering the mile high battle, we get the Scumpire ‘Confessions of a Tin Man.. Geoff Phillip’ profile. Fuck yeah li’l Geoff!

Next up our neighbors up north Seattle Skaters have dropped a new edit with clips of Dustin Jamieson, Aaron Feinberg, and of course a whole host of the kids on the scene up there. This edit is quality.

The Whatnot

Directed/Edited by David Barnes
Filmed by David Barnes
Additional Filmers; Dast & DJ Lloyd

Featuring full sections on Sapata Fofana-Dura, Ross Kuhn, and Mick Ollison.

Additional rollerblading done by much of the Portland area scene at the time, including Adam Green, Chris Bray, Stefan Andreev, Andrew Pham, Micheal Warner, Eric Foust, Ricky Ihara, Dast, Billy Taylor, Daniel Jordan, Brian Maxwell, Sean Hunter, and others!

It cuts off at the very end, I may fix this in the future. All the skating is in there though!

Throwback: Walk On The Wild Side edit

Found this sitting on a hard drive. Filmed over a weekend by Dave Barnes in the Portland area circa 2004. Rollerbladers are Ross Kuhn, Mick Ollison, Adam Green, Dast, Andrew Pham, and I think Micheal Warner is in the Adidas ledges section. Can’t tell.

Bootnany 2011 edits

Beer. BBQ. Blading. Bootnany.

From Jon Christopherson;

Can’t wait for next years!

Adam Johnson’s ‘The 20 Project’

Adam Johnson is the hardest working filmmaker in rollerblading. Hands down. Constantly traveling the country with a van full of bladers filming the best deals at the most unique spots. Recently that van rolled through Portland carrying the likes of Chris Farmer, Micheal Garlinghouse, B. Free, Adam Exline, and KC Roche to hit some skatespots & strip clubs.

B.Free laying down lines at holiday center.

During their stay, bones were broke, love was found, and most importantly, deals were had. AJ has been keeping the kickstarter page updated and has posted a couple edits already, both featuring some spots in the Portland area from their trip.

Update #1; Summer Promo

Update #3; Got bored…

Portlandia Skate-A-Thon edit

Aaron Fienberg & Jeremy Townsend chose the perfect day to throw this little local comp. Beautiful weather, no major busts or transportation snafu’s, and definitely a good time.  Jon Mathis took the top spot but being that he hadn’t paid to enter, Andrew Nail took home the cash prize. Dustin Jamieson rounded out the top three and took home a li’l somethin’ somethin’ after skating on his new leg made from adamantium.
